Anna Sandreuter works as a freelance Director/ Dramaturg.
Anna made her directing debut with the show Façade, as founder and artistic director of Crashmat Collective, a Wales based Circus Theatre company. Crashmat Collective investigates original concepts and experiential live performance. Façade is a circus theatre show that blurrs the boundaries between the audience and the performer. This show was supported by the Arts Council of Wales, Arts Council England, Circus Futures, Wales Millennium Centre, Riverfront Theatre, NoFit State Circus and Creu Cymru. Anna co-founded the Mary Bijou Cabaret and Social Club in 2010, which was intended to be a format for artists of all genres to try out their new work. Wales Millenium Centre approached the company to commision the show Hitch for their Spiegeltent at Blysh Festival. This show was supported by Arts Council Wales and later Arts Council England for the tour. Hitch was directed by James Williams, the tour included Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Royal Welsh College Of Music and Drama, Aberystwyth Arts Centre, Gwyn Hall, Torch Theatre, Ffwrnes, Brighton Fringe Festival, Postcard Festival, Jacksons Lane Theatre, Canterbury Festival, Macchynleth Comedy Festival, Bath Fringe Festival, Blysh festival, Big Splash Festival. Anna completed her studies at National Centre for Circus Arts in London. For many years she was a member of the touring Company NoFit State Circus, where she toured the shows ImMortal, Mundo Paralelo, Parklife, Labyrinth. Between tours she taught in their community classes at the headquarters in Cardiff, Wales. In 2015 Anna decided to move to Austria, she is on the board of the Verein Contemporary Circus Austria, which is the founding association of the Circus Trainings Centrum, where she continues to work and train.
